There are wedding days that feel extra charged with joy and excitement, and The Funk Backes wedding was exactly that. From the very first moment we stepped into the bridal suite, the energy was contagious—laughter, happy nerves, and the anticipation of a long-awaited celebration filled the air.

Lexi and Ben tied the knot on their 11th anniversary, making the day even more meaningful. Their wedding was hosted at the beautiful Waterfront Hotel in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, which provided the perfect backdrop of river views and sunset skies.

On a personal note, this wedding was especially close to my heart. I first met Ben and Lexi at Ben’s senior session—she came along since they were already dating, and of course I had to include a few of them together. Would you believe that one of those senior photos was featured all these years later on their guest sign-in book at the wedding? Talk about a full-circle moment!

Yes, I love capturing pretty photos, but what truly fills my heart is the connection this work brings—the friendships, the stories, and the privilege of witnessing milestones like this one. Grateful is an understatement. It’s been so great to get to know both Lexi and Ben, and their families through the years and it was such an honor to document their beautiful wedding day.
