A Cinnamon Style Fall Wedding | The Barn on Heron Hill
/Logan + Abby | Oct 26th, 2024
On a perfect autumn day, Logan and Abby became Mr. and Mrs. Cinnamon. The air was crisp, but their day was warm and cozy… with a little spice! A warm, rustic, cozy theme for the Cinnamons featured a barn wedding venue, tablescapes that incorporated feathers, and a wooden floral bouquet by the bride herself. The colors of fall, love, excitement, and Fireball (obviously, right!?), set the tone. Every moment, each thoughtful detail, came together beautifully with the help of their family and friends.
The couple got ready in the elegant farmhouse while Rachel and I took detail photos on the porch and around the venue. Then we stepped in to document those final touches of makeup as the Bride and Groom prepared for their first look. Deep orange hues and evergreens set the backdrop while Logan saw his bride for the first time. The emotion was palpable. We documented from a distance to give them time to enjoy each other in this moment. With all of the emotions, there was also laughter. I can hear Abby asking Logan if he liked her shoes, and they both laughed as he said yes to her sparkling white tennis shoes. It was so adorable to witness. With shorter days, we planned to take the couple’s portraits, wedding party portraits, and the majority of their family portraits all before the ceremony.
The emotional first look didn’t take away from the aisle. The groom’s emotion was reflected by all of the loved ones; I don’t think there was a dry eye present. Through tears, smiles, laughter and joy, the ceremony was beautifully officiated by Logan’s childhood friend. I always wish I could remember the music during the ceremony, because it was perfect! Luckily I can look back at the notes from the DJ, who happened to be one of Abby’s childhood friends! They were super organized and sent over a detailed itinerary before the big day — which was a super nice touch! I always love great communication, as all of us vendors are on the same team, after all! To provide the absolute best experience for our couples is our number one goal. After the ceremony, the couple had time to mingle, sign their marriage license, and then took a few more extended family portraits while the amazing staff and owners of the Barn on Heron Hill welcomed the guests into the big beautiful barn for cocktails and snacks.
Before the grand entrance, the bride and groom took a few minutes alone for sunset portraits around the property. This time was special. It gave them time to soak in the moment, to laugh together, talk, and practice a twirl or two before their official first dance. I’m always looking for new perspectives from venues I frequent to give each couple their special shot. This being one of my favorite venues, we still found new angles, including one a little skip away on the gravel road. The sun was setting so fast, and with a bride in tennis shoes, the groom took her hand and they ran off down the gravel road. Those five minutes on the road were some of my favorite shots, and after that we were ready to head into the barn to party!
Mr. and Mrs. Cinnamon made their grand entrance through a wedding party tunnel, and the couple was cheered all the way to their cake table. They were all smiles as they cut their cake and then took their seats. Looking out to the barn filled with love ones from across the state, from across all of the eras of their lives, filled these two with such gratitude and joy. The love and support you feel from a room filled with people who come to celebrate your love and life together is an amazing feeling. And we could all feel the love on Abby and Logan’s day!
The reception was wild. The food was so great, the bar stayed busy, the dance floor packed and the photo booth — even Rachel and I took a turn in the photo booth. :)
I think I’ve said this about every wedding this year, but it was such a beautiful, fun, and laid-back day — absolute perfection.
Enjoy a few of my favorite images from the Cinnamon Wedding (the highlight film is coming soon so follow along on Facebook at @jillianwebbart):
I met this sweet couple last year during their engagement session with us here at Wold Farm. It felt like they were instant friends and I was so thrilled to document their wedding day! We were so happy they also chose to stay with us for their wedding weekend here at the Bin. Somehow I get blessed to serve the most amazing couples and it leaves me feeling so grateful. From kind hearts, amazing planning, to just being laid-back genuinely wonderful people… my heart couldn’t ask for more.
Thank you, Logan and Abby, for trusting us with your wedding day… it was a dream!
