A Photographer’s Dreamy Fall Barn Wedding | Gatherings on the Ridge | WI

When photographing a photographer’s dream wedding day you know it’s going to be breathtaking!
From getting ready at their lovely rental on the bluffs with a fall foliage overlook, to their elegant barn venue, the whole day was laid back with a rustic chic vibe! And everyone had a blast!
This photographer bride and her handsome groom became Mr. and Mrs. Hach on a cozy fall day at Gatherings on the Ridge, a beautiful barn venue in Wisconsin. The Bride fell in love with this venue the first time she saw it years ago and I’m so happy she got to say “I do” where she always dreamed of. To make the wedding weekend relaxed, the couple rented a house on the bluffs near their venue. It doubled as a great space for getting ready and first look photos with a gorgeous fall river view as their backdrop.
The couple’s family witnessed their intimate afternoon wedding ceremony before all of their closest friends and loved ones joined for an evening reception in the big old barn. The mid October weather was perfect - even with a few perfect little sprinkles that fell from the sky for good luck.
After dinner the toasts brought tears and sweet laughter. Then Mr. and Mrs. Hach enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife. The DJ opened the dance floor for all to join in. I may have even jumped in for a dance, camera-in-hand of course! This was one of the most family-friendly receptions. Sometime during all of the festivities a huge bounce house was inflated outside! And you know it wasn’t just the kids having fun in there. I watched as Brandon and several of the adults took a turn down the inflatable slide. Whoever had the idea for the bounce house gets a 10/10! That tip will have to go into a blog post on how to have a family-friendly wedding reception!
Rachel and Brandon’s entire day was heartfelt, beautiful, comfortable, and so fun!
I knew it would be.
Rachel was one of the first people to step in front of my camera when we first moved across the country over eleven years ago. So when she came to me about photographing her wedding day you know I was beyond thrilled and feeling a bit nostalgic. From Rachel’s senior photos, to photos with Rachel, Brandon, and their puppy Chloe, to Rachel’s grandparent’s 50th anniversary photos, and here most recently the couple’s engagement and wedding day… getting to document so many special moments for this beautiful Bride and Groom and their family has been more than an honor. It’s made me feel like part of the family.
Not only has Rachel been in front of my camera through the years, for the past year she has also been behind the camera with me documenting weddings and families. I’m so grateful for her, for their trust in me to document their day, and for getting to know them both even more throughout this year. I am looking forward to all of the memories we’ll make in the years to come, but most importantly I’m so incredibly happy for these two and the life they’re building together.
Congrats, Mr. and Mrs. Hach!
Hope you all enjoy a few of my favorite images from Rachel and Brandon’s day and a touch of their wedding film, too!
