/A Barn Wedding Celebration to Remember…
Sometimes life doesn’t go as planned, but having the right person by your side for the ride is what matters! I’m so grateful I was able to document Sasha and Ryan’s special day, grateful to get to know their families and to witness this part of their beautiful journey.
Mr. and Mrs. Moser officially tied the knot on Saturday, September 14th, 2024, at their home. A few of their loved ones were present, but it wasn’t the big barn wedding day they had been dreaming of and planning for. Sometimes life happens, and just before their official date, there was an accident. My heart sank for them when I got that phone call, but we were all just so relieved that everyone was going to be okay. While they considered powering through they decided it would be best to postpone the celebration and I fully supported their decision.
A few months later, I was so happy to hear from Sasha when they were ready to officially celebrate their union. Sasha reached out about a new date. They wanted to have a special day, photos of them in their wedding attire, their wedding party by their side and their families all together to celebrate. I mentioned to Sasha and Ryan it might be fun to have a first look before we took their photos and to take their time and enjoy the day fully — they deserved it!
The date was set for April 12th and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful spring day in northeast Iowa.
We all met at the beautiful Barn on Heron Hill, where the couple originally planned to host their wedding day. The sun beamed as Ryan and their friends and family stood by the gazebo for the couple’s first look, Ryan was eager to see his bride in her wedding dress and Sasha got to walk down the aisle to her Groom. She looked absolutely stunning. The couple met at the altar, held hands, and a few words of encouragement were shared by the bride’s grandfather. The couple kissed. After this sweet moment we took their family and wedding party portraits on the property with a few more portraits in my favorite evergreen tree line — I cannot rave enough about the Barn on Heron Hill, it is so beautiful from every angle.
After we finished their formal portraits the whole crew loaded up and headed over to Wold Farm, my little venue on the prairie, for some snacks, relaxation by the barn, and a few more couples portraits in the prairie before one last stop at Pikes Peak overlook. The group enjoyed the views and an epic champagne photo before they were on their way to dinner at the Barn Restaurant in Prairie du Chien.
I’m so happy for these guys and their family and I’m sure this will be a day and a year they’ll always remember!
