From the very first call with Emma, I had a feeling I was going to love their wedding day.

We literally laughed and talked about all the things. The best nail polish, swimming, coaching, teaching, life in general. It was one of those conversations where you feel like you've known someone much longer than you actually have. By the end of that first call, I already knew Emma was going to be a dream to document and looked forward to calling her not just a client but also a friend.

And I was right.

Emma and Kolin were absolutely amazing to work with, and I already can't wait to see them again soon.

They were referred to me by one of their best friends, who was also a groomsman in their wedding. I had photographed his sister's wedding and his cousin's wedding days, so when Emma reached out about wedding video, I knew this was going to be such a fun day to document.

And it truly was so fun.

Emma and Kolin asked me to incorporate music from their ceremony performed by their groomsman, which made the finished films even more personal. Their entire wedding party was made up of friends and family, and you could feel just how much these people meant to them throughout the entire day.

Together, Rachel and I teamed up to document the Wrights in motion.

From their beautiful ceremony at St. Mary's in Manchester, to portraits along the beach at Backbone State Park, to plenty of silliness and party bus dancing, every part of the day felt completely them.

Then came the reception at Edgewood Event Center.

The food was wonderful, and Edgewood Event Center did an especially fantastic job accommodating guests with gluten allergies, making sure everyone could enjoy the celebration. And we absolutely cannot forget the desserts, which were made by the bride and her family.

The DJ kicked off the evening with games, and before long the entire room was roaring with laughter and fun.

Then came the dances.

This couple clearly knew what they were doing because their first dance was gorgeous. Emma's dress seemed practically made for twirling, and watching the two of them together was one of those little moments that makes wedding films so special.

And then came the speeches.

Even after knowing Emma and Kolin for only a short time, I found myself feeling every word of the Maid of Honor's and Best Man's toasts. They described Emma as sweet, welcoming and energetic, and Kolin as reserved, steady and loyal to the core.

It was so easy to see the truth in all of it.

Their people know them well.

During the reception, we stole away for a few minutes of sunset portraits before finishing the night with exactly what you'd hope for from this group: a whole lot of dancing, laughter and celebrating.

Looking back through their films has been so much fun. There is something special about documenting a wedding not just as it happens, but in motion. The voices, the music, the laughter, the way a dress moves when a bride spins, the energy of a packed dance floor and the little in-between moments that might otherwise be forgotten.
